The Diploma of Electrical and Instrumentation – UEE50220, is aimed at those that would like to increase their professional development by broadening their knowledge in understanding how processing plant architectures are put together and how to write up plant control philosophy. You will learn the fundamentals of field instrumentation coupled with the programmable logic controller (PLC) in assisting you to fault find more easily.Obtaining a Diploma of Electrical and Instrumentation could potentially open more doors for you and allows the individual to branch out into other pathways in the future.
Option 1:Unrestricted electrical licence holder issued in an Australian state or territory with no instrumentation qualifications and instrumentation work experience: 19 days
Option 2:Unrestricted electrical licence holder issued in an Australian state or territory with UEE40411 - Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation and instrumentation work experience: 12 days
Option 3:Unrestricted electrical licence holder issued in an Australian state or territory with UEE31211 – Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control: 5 days
This qualification provides competencies to supervise selection, installation, commissioning maintenance and testing of explosion-protected equipment and systems for control and monitoring of plant and processes. The qualification provides competencies in working with explosion protections techniques with elections in how they apply to, gas and dust atmospheres. It includes ERAC requirements for an ‘Electrician’s licence’ and competencies to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain stand-alone renewable energy equipment and systems.
The entry requirement for this qualification is:
UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
or
a current ‘Unrestricted Electricians Licence’ or its equivalent issued in an Australian state or territory.

Other units of competency may contribute towards the elective units for UEE50220 Diploma of Electrical and Instrumentation. Tech Skills Australia shall assess candidate’s qualifications on a case to case basis.
A) Full qualification – UEE50220 Diploma of Electrical and Instrumentation
Graduates who are successfully competent in both theoretical and practical training, completing all units of competency in the training package will receive the full qualification.
B) Statement of Attainment (SOA) - UEE50220 Diploma of Electrical and Instrumentation
This Statement is issued to a student who has successfully completed one or more units of competency in the training package but does not meet the requirements for a full qualification and to Electrical Engineers.
